Josh Snyder enters his 2nd season as a Varsity Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at North Davidson High School. In the inaugural 2017 – 2018 campaign, alongside Head Coach Brandon Mullis, the Black Knights finished 3rd out of 10 teams in the competitive Central Carolina 2A Conference, earned a state playoff berth, and placed two student-athletes in Satchel Hester and Themus Fulks on the Central Carolina All-Conference team. Hester went on to earn a full scholarship to Division II, Anderson University in the competitive South Atlantic Conference. 

Prior to North Davidson, Snyder served on the Charleston Southern University Women's Basketball staff as the Director of Basketball Operations in 2016-2017, under the guidance of Head Coach Fred Applin. His responsibilities included handling team community service, non-conference scheduling, travel/recruiting budgetary oversight, team gear, and all aspects of team travel. In his lone season with the women's program, the Buccaneers finished with a record of 18-14, and concluded the season with an appearance in the post-season WBI Tournament. During the lone season, Ke'Asia Jackson was named to the 2016-17 Big South All-Conference Second Team, and Alyssa Mann earned All-Conference Honorable Mention alongside All-Academic Honors. The program also was chosen as the 2017 recipient of the South Carolina Student Organization Service Achievement Award. This award is presented annually to the student organization who exhibits outstanding leadership and innovative approaches in their community service endeavors both on their campus and within their community, which addresses public issues, effective community building, and integration of civic engagement into the college experience.  

Snyder spent the 2015-16 season serving as the varsity assistant at Glenn High School under Coach Monty Gray. During his time at Glenn, he helped lead the team to its first playoff berth in three years. He helped coach two Piedmont-Triad 4A All-Conference selections in Rachard Daniels and Chrishawn Lindsey, as well as assisted in all facets of the day to day operations of the Bobcats program. While at Glenn, Snyder also served as an educator in the Social Studies department, teaching American History I and II courses.

Before Glenn, Snyder served two seasons as the Director of Basketball Operations with the Men's program at Charleston Southern from 2013-2015, under the leadership of Barclay Radebaugh. During the 2014-2015 the Buccaneers finished with a 19-12 record, culminating in a Big South Regular Season Championship after outlasting High Point in a triple overtime thriller. This Regular Season Championship led to the Buccaneers receiving the automatic conference berth to the NIT post-season tournament. The Buccaneers earned many accolades after the successful season, including Head Coach Barclay Radebaugh earning Big South Coach of the Year, Senior point guard Saah Nimley earning Big South Player of the Year honors along with being named a finalist for the 2015 Lou Henson Award, given to the top mid-major player in Division I college basketball. Nimley also was also named a 2014-15 Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American. Senior forward Will Saunders was been named to the Big South's All-Conference Second-Team and fellow Senior Arlon Harper earned the nod of Honorable Mention All-Conference accolades, while Senior Paul Gombwer was selected to the All-Academic Team.  

Snyder also served a brief stint as an assistant coach with Head Coach Steve Hardin at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC from July to September of 2013. While there, he assisted in many facets of the program, including recruiting in the Tobacco Road areas of NC.

A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., and graduate of Mount Tabor High School, Snyder spent the 2011-13 seasons at UNC-Wilmington as a graduate assistant manager on Coach Buzz Peterson's staff. He coordinated team travel, assisted with recruiting and played an important role in practice and skill development sessions for the Seahawks.

Snyder previously served as a student manager at Appalachian State University from 2007-2010 under Houston Fancher and Buzz Peterson, and worked with all aspects of the Mountaineer program. He assisted with film, practice sessions, and equipment, while also assisting with team travel. During his senior year, the Mountaineers garnered a 24 win season, while advancing to the Southern Conference Championship game and the semifinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.

In addition to his coaching experience, Snyder has served on the camp staffs at UNCW, Clemson, Campbell, the College of Charleston, ASU and Team USA Select.

Snyder earned his B.S. Degree in History, Secondary Education from Appalachian State Univerty in 2010 and is working to complete his M.A. Degree in Liberal Studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
